A new hike for us, cut short by rain

Kristen wanted to go see Past Lives (which was great) but the only place it was playing was over at the Violet Crown in Charlottesville. Kristen didn't want to drive all the way there and back just to see a movie, so I suggested we spend the night there. We got the the Downtown Mall, ducked into several of the shops, ate at Otto Turkish Street Food, saw the movie, then stayed overnight at a hotel.

In the morning we got up late, had brunch at First Watch, then went for our first hike together of the summer. We chose Ragged Mountain Reservoir, which a friend at work had recommended to me. By the time we got to the trailhead, it was starting to rain lightly, which wasn't too much of a problem, but by the time we got down the trail a mile or so, we heard thunder, so we turned around and called it a day.

The hike itself is nice - nothing spectacular, but a nice walk around the reservoir. The weekend as a whole was a lot of fun, though.
