A quick trip to an old standby
Who: Bryce, Kristen
We're new empty-nesters, trying to figure out what to do with ourselves now that there aren't any kids at home to feed and otherwise plan our lives around. So we figured we do what we always like to do when we have a free weekend - go on a hike! Actually, life had been quite busy over the summer, so it had been quite a while since Kristen and I had gone on a proper hike together, and it had been several months since we had gone up to Shenandoah National Park, so we decided to make a quick trip up.
South River Falls is one of the closer hikes to the Swift Run Gap entrance, and a hike we always enjoy, so we decided to go there.

The weather had been quite dry for several weeks, and the falls were down to a mere trickle, much different than usual. One side of the falls was not flowing at all.
It started to rain just as we got off the trail - much needed, and our timing was perfect. Not too much else to report, other than it was good to get out together and start adjusting to our new life without kids.
