Always go on the hike (unless it's dangerous)

Who: Bryce, Kristen

Kristen and I dropped Trevor at UVa. We had thought about going to Humpback Rocks, but Rockfish Gap was really socked in, and Trevor was in a little bit of a time crunch to get back to Charlottesville, so we got some popcorn at King's near the entrance to the park and dropped Trevor off.

Since we had to cross through Shenandoah National Park to get back to Harrisonburg, we decided that we should go up to Dark Hollow Falls, since it's short, and something we like to do every year.

We stopped at the Harry F. Byrd Visitors Center at Big Meadows and watched the movie, which we haven't done in years. Outside was damp and foggy, and we weren't sure we would be able to see anything on the hike. We decided to drive down to the trailhead. There were only a few cars there. Kristen left it up to me to decide if we should go. I figured we were there anyway, and it was a short hike, and we had learned long ago that when in doubt, you should go on the hike.

We pretty much had the trail to ourselves, which almost never happens at Dark Hollow Falls. When we reached the lower falls, we were the only ones there (except for a photographer who was further down the trail waiting for us to move). It's a short hike, and a familiar one. On the way we recalled the many times we had done the hike in the past, and the people we had shared it with.
